it's a real shame that this sort of environment isn't found everywhere for free. I'm pretty sure the people who would thrive in it are out there and it's just a coordination problem. a lot of people love their jobs because they get some slice of an actual intellectual culture at the which would be hard to come across elsewhere.

I love the idea of Recurse Center and wish I had the time (and, transitively, money) to take a stab at it. Maybe some day!

The program is free to attend. If you do it in person though you ofc have to pay NYC rent for a few months.

this article is completely missing a description of what this thing even is and I had to look it up to have any idea of what it was talking about. but after doing so, that looks nice! I don't live near any technology, but it seems like something I'd love to try out if I did.
